Does the SKILL bill help persons who have already completed their masters or will it also help those who are pursuing their MBA/MS? (i.e if SKILL is implemented)
Will a person with 2 yrs experience and a MS degree or a person with 6 yrs experience and currently working towards their MBA (part-time) be exempted from the visa numbers?

I would think and HOPE that seeing this thresd and message from Logiclife, MOST people who have been visiting IV and not contributed money or time will do atleast ONE of the following:
1. Just register on the website.
2. Join State chapters.
3. One time contributions to the 30K Omnibus fund drive.
4. Join for monthly contributions.
5. Volunteer via State chapters.
If people don't even do this, it is obvious one or more of these can be made of them.
1. They are our "friendly" visitors from ALIPAC.
2. They are incapable of helping themselves via IV efforts. Thus the word 'Cowards' fits rather well for them.
3. They are so broke that they have time to browse the website but don't have any money to contribute.
In my very very very honest opinion, either one of the above reasons makes you a very sad and selfish individual. I am sure we have many many good people that can help and will help, it is just a matter of injecting some urgency.
We have a great organisation and capable core leadership. We have seen lots of new members joining. We have a huge task in front of us and we will all need to put at least the basic effort. Thanks to all those who are contributing and those who will be contributing.

I agree with most of your post, but to state that 5yrs of wait is not a catastrophic delay - you have to be really very patient, and frankly unimaginitive to know what you can do with your green card.
Going forward, only people hit with retrogression will wait for 5-7 years. And if you look at the percentage of people getting a green card, a large number of them will get it in a couple of years, while the rest of us will suffer the nonsensical country cap.
Companies hire individuals not only because they can get the job done, but also because they see that the individual will evolve in his/her role going forward. Which company will continue to keep you in the same position for 5 years, doing the same thing day after day? You have to be just dumb enough not to get promoted and with zero ambition to succeed.
Understand that we are stuck. This is not what we want.
There are companies that do not want you to evolve and despite your abilities keep you stuck in EB3: that way they get more out of you, unless you decide to quit and take further risks.

Get copies of your 140 approval and labor filing papers. Look for a job and transfer h1b , you will get 3 years transfer/extension based on yiour approved 140.

Fragomen employees are told they represent the company. The company is their client. They are a corporate law firm. There are instances when the law firm represents you, the foreign national. Usually this is when you are applying via a marriage based case, or are in the final green card process and it has reached portability. There is information that law firms cannot release to you as some information requested belongs to the client, and they must receive authorization from the client. Yes, I used to work for Fragomen, before anyone wants to assume anything. I was a paralegal and worked hard for every case that was given into my hands. I specialized in the green card process and made sure I responded to every foreign national as quickly as I can. Please understand that paralegals and legal assistants are subject to the attorneys they work for. Therefore, some questions you may ask require an attorney to respond, and the paralegal or legal assistant's delay may be in trying to get the answer you require. I know not all Fragomen offices work the same. Not all will respond to you in the same manner. Some may be worse than others. So if you are going to defame Fragomen, would you please try to specify which office you are referring to?
I have read through all the posts on this thread and I know some of you have positive experiences, while others have had very negative experiences. To those of you who have had negative experiences, I am sorry that your case went to someone who only looked at their work as a job. For me, each one of my foreign nationals were special cases, each required as much care and concern that I could give them. None of my cases were ever denied. I wish you all the best in this process. I know it is a long and, many times, frustrating process, especially with countless delays due to either the law firm, your company, or the government.
And for the person who had asked about the prevailing wage, it comes from the state employment department, not the federal government. Some offices work faster than others. When a prevailing wage comes back higher than what you are making, the law firm then has to go back to the employer to find a resolution, which can mean either an increase in the salary once you have received the green card, or confirmation that is what you will be making at that time, or a reduction in the requirements, which can sometimes take a case from EB2 to the EB3 visa category.

I've been on the website for sometime, started out with a positive attitude, contributed etc, but got totally * turned off* by childish posts like the one from Logiclife. Emotional responses to situations is hardly the way to lead, especially a volunteer organization like IV. Do you think big exhortations and 'quotations' from all over the web motivate people??
Needhelp, you are doing a great job. It is insincere of people to not show up after they've committed, but what's new? We've all had that happen when we try to arrange large parties where the 'not so close' crowd is expected.
My 2 cents, instead of using impersonal bulletin boards and emails, lets try this:
- you * call * 2 of your friends and ask them to commit
- ur friends each calls 2 more friends and asks them to commit
I'm willing to bet, we'll get a better turnover this way.

They might have their reasons and the right to work their way. I agree with your frustration when people who signed to turn up do not show up. But I feel this is not the way to express it.

Just reporting what I saw on CNN. During the Sen. McCain interview with Judy Judy Woodruff & Richard Stengel, Richard asked something like - what about the green cards for the highly skilled immigrants educated by American Universities. To this Sen. McCain replied implying - they should be given green cards sooner, I am not sure if they could be given automatic green cards but the process should be faster.....
He said it not exactly in these words but implying something to that effect. They were suppose to ask Sen. Obama the exact same questions. Did anyone see Sen. Obama's answer to the question about green card for high skilled immigrants from Richard Stengel? Just curious....

Called Rep. Lamar Smiths office, They took down the bill numbers and my message. They did mentioned that the bill is in the Jud committee and I need to call the Jud Committee chair, but I did mention that Rep. Lamar Smith's support would be key to solving the backlog issue in the EB GC process.
