Hello everyone ! 13 years ago i was charge with Lanercy-theft wich it was a 2nd deg misdemeanor and possesion of cannabis under 20 grams 1st deg misdemeanor i plead guilty and served 3 days in county jail (Florida) , now i'm 32 married to an American citizen and getting ready to adjust my status , i just want to know how hard it"s going to be this whole process , i dont want to be dinied or deported , thanks for any answers.

Hi,
Currently I am working for employer A on H1B. I have applied for I-485 and have EAD. I have one permanent opprtunity from a consulting firms B. Compnay B is asking me to join on EAD. But threir current client is in Canada. So compnay B want me to travel to Canada, every week, retun back to US in week end. Can I do this while working on EAD. I am just worried wether it will cause any problem. They told that that is the reason they do not want to do H1B.

I am working on H1 and my current H1 petition is valid until April 6th 2011.
My visa (stamp) expired in Nov 2009.
I have my new H1 extension petition approved from April 7th 2011- 2014( same employer).
I am going to India early Feb and will going to Hyd/Chennai for visa stamp.
In the visa appointment it is asking for my petition number: which one should I give current or the new extension one. I would like to have my H1 stamped until 2014 so that I can avoid additional trip to consulate.

Can you please explain why it is restrictive compared to H1B?
Are you telling it because of 2 year home residency rule and getting waivers?
I am thinking of it because of my job continuation and spouse and family. If there is any alternative please suggest.

Can someone give me any suggestions?
I have filed for my AOS, last week.. I am assuming that i will get my EAD, AP in next 3-4 months......
a.) Once we get our EAD's can we go to India for a period of 6 months...even without receiving our physical GC? and yet return to US??
b.) After filing for AOS, can we leave US for a long period (6 months)..so in that case will we still get our EAD/AP/GC's???????
any answers?

IS the HDFC bank receipt number a 10 digit one? It has space for only 10 digits on the website while booking an appointment. My number has an 'A' before the 10 digits. When i enter just the 10 digits it says "Cast from string "undefined/undefined/undefined" to type 'Date' is not valid". 2 business days havent been completed yet (since the payment) and that might be one of the reasons but i am not sure yet. Anybody see this before?
Also, as i understand once this goes through, i will be able to fill in the details for the DS-156 and DS-157 automatically and dont need to go to any other site. Appreciate your insight

You can have 2 485s pending at the same time - this happens fairly often. Once CIS is ready to approve one, they will ask if you want to withdraw the other. You may not get approved for a second EAD and AP, however, while you have valid versions of these.

How are stamping scenarios these days at Chennai?..esp"lly due to PIMS stuff...
I have followed lot of discussions around H1 stamping and people got struck for weeks/months in India due to PIMS and other issues..
Is it advisable to go for H1 stamping as i'm into 7 th year of extension and I can't afford getting stuck in India for more than the granted period of vacation...I have approved AP documents handy and can use them while coming back to US...
Can someone pls advise me on this?

Its ok to have permanent address on 485 application and different address on AR-11.
You can submit AR-11 for your change of address and don�t change address on 485 application.
I am saying so because I did call USCIS and confirmed this. But you better call them and ask one more time for your satisfaction
