1) Contact senators who voted yea...Lets specify that we are thanking them because they are supporting legal immigration...Lets make them aware that legal immigrants are prospective voters too.

You have not heeded my advise and that of pappu.
Its time for second warning and if you continue and persist on your idiotic talk, you will really face the consequences.
I have already complained about your behavior and you still continue with your narrow and dogmatic thinking.
You really don't know the difference between assertion and assumption.
Let us move on and concentrate on the bigger issue.

I got an email saying that "On December 2, 2010, we ordered production of your new card" today. Me and my wife both got emails. Our wait (green in our life) for so many years came to a very happy end. My hearty wishes to all the friends who have been waiting in the queue to have best of luck.

Lacris, I went to SSA office to get SSN rejection letter for my wife as she is on h4 (DMV needs rejection letter to renew the license) and SSA Agent checked the passport of my wife for the expiry date, May be they are checking the expiry date now a days, I think you need to renew the passport and go to SSA office for SSN, But I may be wrong

Did anyone get a SSN with their passport expired?
My passport expired in April and the Romanian embassy doesn't renew passports for people who are not US permanent residents or citizens. What I could do was to make a letter of representation for someone in my country, get it certified at one of the Romanian consulates and send all the ORIGINAL documents thru mail in Romania. Since I'm a full time graduate student, even finding time to go to the nearest consulate was almost impossible. I was also worried that we might be asked to show up for an interview and would not have documents like passport or marriage certificate in hand. I talked to the lawyer and she said that if I don't plan to travel abroad, not having a valid passport is ok.
Yesterday I got the plastic card and today I went to apply for a SSN. The lady I talked to refused to take my application, saying that my Romanian passport is considered an "immigration document" and until I have an unexpired one, I should not try to get a SSN. Call me crazy, but since I am a permanent resident doesn't it mean I don't have to leave USA unless I want to???? We won't know if it effective unless we execute it, which is the biggest issue with us "the execution".
So far as locating old PDs are concerned, it USCIS knows it exists and if there is willinglness, they can dig it out from anywhere.
On the other hand , if this not fixed then even if there are 200K extra visas, the sufferings will persist.

Of all the wrongs in April VB +ve thing is EB3-I moved. It moved to the extent it moved last year (http://immigrationvoice.org/wiki/index.php/Past_Visa_Bulletin_Data).
So for EB3-Is take console on these
1) Horror or 245(i) (http://immigrationvoice.org/wiki/index.php/245(I)) are over.
2) EB3-I may be over 2001 by start of next year.
So EB3-I may move only by 2 months for the rest of the year?

I am not sure about the other service centre. Sorry dudes.
This is great first step! Many more to cross over! :) . Think about the USPS or other carrier who will be delivering these tons of letters.. I hope the mountain of receipts will not be a overwhelming factor for them.

From what I understand many 485 applications(not all)received in accordance to the June bulletin MAY have been preassigned a visa number(from the leftover 60,000 visas) NOT an approval.

Although they are not supposed to pre assign numbers without name checks etc, is'nt it obvious that they might have done that??. They have a lot of cases to approve until Sept 30(from that 60,000 number)
no its not obvious. They have a big backlog of 485s still, and that 60,000 visa numbers can be used up without them having to assign some of those numbers to June 07 filers. See the ombudsmans report for details. If anything, they'll keep some of those visa numbers for people who have been in namecheck long enough, and are expected to get out soon.

Yes, we need directions ASAP... we should meet once in 15 days atleast.
Also now we with rsamudrala ,satishbsk and SDdesi having joined the SOCal chapter we are 39 member strong team!!!
Hoping that we will get 1 more person with us for meetings we will atleast have about 70 members in a meeting.

Just wanted to know your thoughts on this. CNN has launched the first ever cnn-youtube debate and the deadline to submit videos is 7/22.. Users have to basically upload their questions on youtube and some of these questions will be selected and democratic presidential candidates will have to answer these questions.
I know its kinda late, but why not upload videos on youtube asking questions about legal immigration to the candidates? i think it will be a great way of bringing out our problems further in the mainstream... if you think this is a good idea, we may have to act on it fast... we dont have much time.

This has been discussed before, People can send in checks of whatever denomination or pay it thru their banks - Set it up as automatic payment every month if they like. (for smaller denominations).

Finally spoke to my congressman's Immigration contact in Bucks County PA.
He sounded supportive and said he will investigate the matter. I am going to call my state senators Sen Specter and Sen Casey's office as well.
