never worked for "employer x" after H1 transfer, perhaps you are out of status. What is your lawyer saying? You never transferred H1 back to emplyer#2?
I have maintained valid status with my current employer (Employer #2). Employer #2 sponsored H1B was valid until 2008, then I used EAD. I have always maintained valid status. My only concern is I never worked for 'Employer X'.
Would you still see this as an issue...?

Call representative , the lady i spoke knew i was calling regarding the bills as soon as i gave my name and she said they are getting lot of calls and she told me to contact local rep also....

Update: In the subcommittee hearing tomorrow let us expect our issues raised. IV has successfully communicated issues of IV community to the subcommittee members. Let us wait to see if all of those are addressed in questions. This is all possible due to support of members who contribute to help us with lobbying efforts.

I sent my EAD paper file on 29th May to TSC. I received my EAD's today for 1 year. Cutoff date for 2 year is 30th june.
Wow - Mine also went on the same day. No sign of EAD yet. I wish they handle it next week so that I get 2 years :)

For EB3
EB2 I/C will never be current without legal fixes.. Current estimated EB2 backlog is slightly less than 100K
For EB2 I/C from 2006..
Unless hell falls on us, Most of you will get green cards this year.
Now Lets get back to IV Advocacy effort and get active.. That is the the only hope for everyone...

And most people on this forum who rail against the treatment of Indians might want to think about why they left India in the first place. India is by and large an extremely unfair place to live. There is constant discrimination. We left because we wanted to lead a decent life without pandering to someone all the time. Everyone from India on this forum was fortunate enough to be educated enough that they could afford to make that choice. There are a billion people who can't make that choice. And they are in India. We chose to abandon them and come live among what we percieved to be a fairer society. And it is, in a lot of ways. Do not be hasty to judge through the glasses of pent-up frustration about your current circumstance. If you have a personal experience that you thought was not fair, tell them at that moment why it's not cool. And by and large, they will stop or at least empathize with you. Try that back in India - tell your local politician why you think he's not doing a good job and see how well that goes.

It seems like the group I am currently working in will shutdown in few months and more than half of the people have left the group already. I, therefore, need to find a job in next 4 months or so. I am a computer engineer by profession but trying to pursue a career in SAP functional field or DBA and looking for some advise from professionals in the field on training requirements/opportunities, career opportunities in different SAP modules, and how to basically get started.

I am on H1b..not using EAD...also one of my buddies is working on EAD and he got his EAD renewal approved last week..i guess USCIS donot look at current immigration status to issue EAD...
I got the same email this morning and status said EAD was ordered on june 30th.
I am pretty sure we will get a 2yr EAD but will just have to wait 2 more days to confirm this.... I wonder if they are looking at the current status and if you are on h1b they are issued 1yr and processed it before june 30, while if you are currently on EAD, they kept them until June 30th.. I doubt it but just a theory...

I am afraid my analysis reflect the reality. I have heard a number of people talking about this and polls have shown that is the case. Iraq war & scandals were the driving force behind this. Nothing else. Even liberal newspapers such as The Nation report that is the case:

Can we form a Human Chain protest across the major cities of the country at a predefined date and time. for instance, say Nov 9th between 11.AM and 1 PM.
This way more local people, across the country, can participate and as the timing is around lunch hours, I presume many of us can get back to work within the two hour duration.
May be this decentralized & concerted effort in all major cities/states across the country at a specified time may gather main stream media attention.
This is just a thought...

Flower campaign wasnt started by iv (atleast not by the seniors), it slowly gathered momentum on its own and produced results. After seeing this bulletin I ve lost hope in all this lobbying and stuff. We need publicity and more of it. Fasting for a day if organized by iv could bring more results.
Lets not undermine IV's efforts in promoting the flower campaign. IV may not have started it, but the publicity on IV went a long way in making the campaign a big success.

u cannot roll into a roth directly. u have to roll into a regular ira and then to a roth.
but the earlier statement made sense.. dont withdraw immidiately..wait till the next yr and then withdraw from ira..so ur taxes will be 10% penalty and ur tax rate at that time...which will depend on the value of ur 401k.
so if make 80k now and are in the 25% bracket and u have 80k in 401k then u ll have to pay taxes equivalent to the 25% bracket.
but if u make 80k and have 20k in 401k then u r bracket will be the lowest one.
