Yeah, that's true if you're a white male or an immigrant. The rest can easily get on welfare/social security. I've seen dozens of examples over my 5 years of being a landlord. Just reporting what I saw on CNN. During the Sen. McCain interview with Judy Judy Woodruff & Richard Stengel, Richard asked something like - what about the green cards for the highly skilled immigrants educated by American Universities. To this Sen. McCain replied implying - they should be given green cards sooner, I am not sure if they could be given automatic green cards but the process should be faster.....
He said it not exactly in these words but implying something to that effect. They were suppose to ask Sen. Obama the exact same questions. Did anyone see Sen. Obama's answer to the question about green card for high skilled immigrants from Richard Stengel? Just curious....

Hello guys!
I wanted to volunteer a thought that had been in my head, so I am basically thinking out loud here for a bit, just throwing this out there for your guidance, tell me if you think this is too aggressive, or even premature?
I think we need another rally before the end of the year. There are 2 reasons:
1- Presidential campaigns: After this Fall, presidential campaigns will be in full swing, and thus commanding all the attention of Congress, the media and the American public.
2- Memory: People's memories are short. Now that we have the attention of the media and Capitol Hill, wouldn't it make sense that this is the time to redouble our efforts and push harder? If we wait, the iron might just cool off.
Having said that, and as we know, a rally means a lot of money, a lot of work, a lot of dedication to organize. Yet, no one said our struggle was easy, and other people and groups who have gone through tough struggles have had to go through extraordinary lengths to achieve their goals.
So, if we were to hypothetically hold a second rally this Fall, we could go for the "low-hanging fruit", i.e. we can hold the rally where the most of us live, such as Silicon Valley (and we know those folks really come through), we can plan to reach attendance to this event in the tens of thousands. I know we might not have enough time, and the people who worked so hard on the DC rally are probably exhausted. But, what if we just focus on an area where there are a LOT of us, and do a "no-frills" rally? Just get the police permits and show up. Our numbers will do the rest.

My point is enjoy your dinner, yes you can't worry about every hungry man but don't tell the hungry to enjoy the hunger! If we can't help them let's not rub it in their face. That's all I am saying. Anyway, my comment wasn't meant for you. You have shown understanding. I did see a few ppl earlier who literally asked ppl to "shut up and enjoy the ride". That really pi*** me off.
Come on, man. We are paying too much attention here. Look, there is always somebody stuck somewhere. People are stuck in BEC, in other contries. People are stuck in Afganistan, Bangalore, there are hungry people stuck in Africa. So? If there are hungry people, then I can't enjoy my dinner then? Someone always has to come and say "you enjoy and there are people stuck somewhere"? What's your reaction would be if someone come on your wedding and start complaining that he is impotent? - these are a little extreme examples, just to make a point.

Its really your judgement call if you believe whether IV is an organization that is helping BEC victims. I think the focus of this organization is retrogression relief. Nothing wrong or right about it.
IV core keeps telling us, BEC is always on their agenda. Really? If they did not even understand our pain and consider our frustration a disruption to people's happiness, how can we expect them to help? I still think IV is a great org, as it's the first such organization to speak out for legal immigrants. But when it comes to BEC victims, I did not see IV changed anything, or intend to change anything.

Since this bill has EB based provisions and does not have controversial guest workers program, would it make more sense to support this bill if it were to be tabled on senate floor instead of Specter's bill? Especially since house is totally opposed to any bill which has a guest worker program.

Example pay stub rfe, ability to pay RFE, customer purchase order RFE etc etc etc, green card holders don’t have any problem working in these same jobs so why should ead people face this nonsense (otherwise it is just like h1).

You have a great plan, come to US on H1 and within 6 months get EAD and you are free from H1b crackdown by jumping to EAD. You think USCIS, Grasley, sanders, and anti eb folks are a bunch of idiots, they will send you and me packing with the same rfe they are hitting h1 folks with if everybody gets to pre file AOS and get EAD. that is why you need to strengthen ac21 by removing same\semilar job condition and other potential h1 like rfe's, otherwise you will drag us down along with you and turn ead into h1.
Anyway I have made my point in this post and all my previous posts. ASK anybody who has been waiting for last 5 to 10 years without GC If what I said is wrong or laughable. I am not one of those bitter folks who says its my way or the highway. Good luck to you guys.

Where did you get the impression that every H1 can arrive this country and be on EAD in six months? Why did I found that the extreme generalization and scare tactic employed by you has an alarming resemblance to those from Lou Dobbs and Grassley?
And to answer your last question, even with a PD of 2007, I've been in the US for ten years, but could not file green card due to company bankruptcy, layoff, etc. and I am 90% certain you've been here shorter than I am. Then should give up your EAD till everyone who stays here longer than you does?
