There are ton of companies that you can go thru. My case was worse than yours, I am on EAD with expired visa. I already had a house on which I was trying to get the loan modification and when going through that process my credit was screwed up. There was no way I could have got the loan from BOFA or chase or any other big names. I went thru a very small loan servicing company who service the loan and make a portfolio of loans and sell to big banks. Even with that small company it was almost impossible but my loan officer got it thru and finally we moved into a new house then.
So bottom line , kick the lame a** loan officer and look for someone else.

From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. My lawyers have just said I will NOT get an EAD because I don't have a visascreen. EVEN though I have a USA RN license.

My wife is still waiting for the AP. The receipt notice gives August 6 as the receipt date. She called USCIS last Tuesday and was told that USCIS is running really slow and is taking 180 days to process APs. The lady she spoke to asked my wife to call back after "it is 180 days past her notice date". Her 180 days will complete on February 6. We have postponed out travel plans several times.

I agree with you 100% but it is a separate issue and must be done. What USCIS suggested to DOS that has resulted in visa bulletin is unacceaptle.
They practically said to DOS, Big Brother, "I don't know" .
How can they not know how many people are standing in line. When you and I take infopass, they can tell your category and priority date and whether you name check is passed or not. How come then they are having difficulties in collecting this data and sending it to DOS.
In my opinion
(1) Community must unite
(2) People must come out of anonymity by providing true information
(3) People must walk the talk - just not open threads and keep discussing
(4) Efforts must be well organized - IV is a great organization - we have state chapters where people can organize themselves - helps us all to do things more effectively
The biggest issue is - everyone come here and open threads but it alll stops there - people join state chapters but do nothing - just want to get updates - and always blame IV for whatever happens and question IV and want to grill IV as to what IV is doing.
Can we all get organized?

I agree. Mine is December 15, 2005.

Looking at the recent approvals looks like USCIS does the following:
1. Pick up x number of files using a random algorithm.
2. Arrange these files in a random order using the same random algorithm
followed in step 1.
3. Randomly pick any file arranged in step 2.
4. Toss a coin.
5. On odd dates if it is heads,approve the file. On even dates if it is tails
approve it.
6. If file is not approved in step 5 put it on the shelf to be picked up
in step 1 in next cycle.

I do not get it either. They seem to have this very complex formula to determine where to move the cutoff dates or they simply roll a dice. Is there no transperancy. Sometimes I figure I should just not be bothered. It is black box!!. But I can really not do that!. Atleast we are participating actively in the call campaigns. But is that all we can do?

It is an Aug 08 fiasco instead of July 07 and this time they are being a lil reserved and not making the dates all the way current. Ofcourse there would be some lucky draws who get their GCs, we will have to wait and watch coz thatz all we (most of us) can do at this point.
Guess what, they are all celebrating my Birthday and that is why.

A cat come and gets on top of the table where Pilu�s body is lying�. She sniffs the body from top to bottom and shakes her head and leaves the room. The dr looks at the old lady and shakes his head too. Old lady protests and says the dr is not doing a good enough job. The Dr again whistles and in comes a Labrador Retriever. People are jumping into conclusion with a few approvals from 2004/2005, but what you are not considering is the number of people with 2001/2002 priority dates who just applied for 485 in June. There might be a lot of them (I am one of those). If there are not too many of them, it is good for everyone, but its very tough to predict.
From what I heard from my lawfirm, they expect the oct bulletin to go back to 2001 or early 2002. But with everyone filing 485, USCIS should be able to predict the number of applicants and move dates better compared to earlier when they were shooting in the dark and wasting visas.
