Hi,
I just got H1B. My wife is currently on her F-1/OPT. Can anyone guide me where I can find required documents to apply for H4 for my wife? Do you think I can do it myself or it needs a lawyer?

as of now it lets the spouse to start working.. & then the not too fancy AC21 portability.. Advanced Parole for trvael outside the US etc..
in terms of GC its just another waiting phase..

Hi,

Following is my visa status:
Working for company A on L1B visa which has expired and
1) L1 extension got approved from company A valid through Aug, 2010.
2) Also have Consular-H1B petition from same Company A valid till Aug, 2011.
No H1B visa stamp

Following are my questions:

1) I am sure, in my case i can transfer my H1B petition to company B with Consulor appointment. Needed confirmation

2) As soon as i get laid off from company A, can i immediately apply for H1B peition transfer to Company B with Change of Status (COS)? how much time i have before my L1 gets deactived?

Today I rceived someone else's EAD. We received three EADs, one each for me and my wife and another adressed to me with EAD inside being some one else's.
Weired ways of USCIS!!!!

I shall call USCIS and notify them of this.

I checked from Tijuana site that if one has an appointment in Tijuana, then they will verify for PIMS entry for that petition.
Question --
1) How much does it cost to setup an appointment in Tijuana ? Do you need to pay the entire visa fee ($125) upfront during appointment ?

2) If the above is not true (and appointment can be set at a nominal cost), is it possible to set up an appintment, get PIMS verified and then cancel the appointment (I am planning for stamping in India)

3) If the above is doable , is it considered fraud -- any issues likely during stamping ? I believe it should not be, since they are anyway getting the additional money for setting up the appointment.

I just contributed my second contribution of $200.00(so far $400.00)
I was just thinking about it, it is still less than what I am earning in one day.
And I am sure it is less than what your consulting company makes(or takes) from you in two days(some times one day)

Think about what these guys at IV are doing for us(and ofcouse for themselves)
Please do your part by contributing. When sombody is willing to donate their time/effort for free, we should make use of it properly(no point in regretting later).

It is dissappointing to see that most of us lack motivation.

I guess in the facing rapidly declining ratings, Mr. Dobbs is resorting to even more extreme rhetoric and has now joined the "birthers" desperately peddling one of the sillier conspiracy theories out there. While it showed weak moral stamina, I could at least understand the economic reasoning behind CNN keeping Dobbs on the air when his show was producing healthy ratings. I have no LUD at all for my 1-140 which was approved 6 months back. The status message still stays "...processing..." !!
So do not bother much about the online statuses and LUDs.

Hi,

My kid brother (15 years old and US Citizen) lives in India with my parents. They are quite elderly now to take care of him and we were thinking of bringing him to US legally to live with us. We want to adopt him so that he can have a good lifestyle here and have no issues legally in future. Is there anyone who has gone through similar case before ? Also, I wanted to ask if there are any attorneys that specialize in cases like these ? If so please let me know and I would like to hold a consultation asap.

We filed two different I485s. One me as Primary, for which I have not received any receipt which reached on July 17th. Another from my husbands employer, me as beneficiary which reached on Aug 13th. We got receipt and FP Notice for one which was applied through my husband's employer. Confusion is that in my receipt notice the Alien Number is different from what I received on my I140 Approval Notice. Is it of any concern? Finally will my husband be able to get EAD from my application?

Appreciate any views or opinions!
